SafeTGA participated and exhibited a collection of photographs and testimonials to showcase the diversity of pedestrians and cyclists in the Tower Grove neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/safetga.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/TGBetterBlockPoster.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-557 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/safetga.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/TGBetterBlockPoster-194x300.png\" alt=\"TGBetterBlockPoster\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/safetga.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/TGBetterBlockPoster-194x300.png 194w, http:\/\/safetga.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/TGBetterBlockPoster.png 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On May 10th, commercial vacancies on the 3200 block of Morganford were brought to life with pop-up stores, restaurants and entertainment venues featuring art, authors, fashion design, music, dance, crafts, food, and beer. Outdoor caf\u00e9 seating was\u00a0installed and a vacant lot will be transformed into public space with classes and information on sustainability, a Stray Rescue adoption event, and a canned food drive benefitting Operation Food Search. The streetscape was\u00a0transformed to promote safe walkability and biking with sidewalk bump-outs, bike &#8220;sharrows&#8221;, and a permanent crosswalk.<\/p>\n<p>The Better Block Project created quick, inexpensive, high-impact changes to show the potential to create a livable, vibrant community and lead to permanent solutions for the area.
